Do We Just Have A Form Of Godliness?

"And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:15-18

Let me ask you this question, is the Church today really serving God in the fullness of His power, or do we have a form of godliness but deny the real and complete power of our Father? I don’t think that we are truly serving God in the power that Jesus came and died for us to have, not as a whole we aren’t. And here is why I believe this; Jesus teaches us in Mark 16 that signs will absolutely follow them who believe. So we have to ask ourselves, as a whole are these signs following the Church? Read in the Book of Acts, our older brothers and sisters were being used by our Father to do these things! Right from the very beginning of their salvation, babies in Christ were being used by God to raise the dead, to prophesy, and to heal all manner of sickness!

Jesus teaches us that all who believe should be one. “That they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.” John 17:21

The question is: are we truly one? Look at how many different churches that we have, right across the street from each other, towns with less than 500 people have three and four different churches, in the Book of Acts our Father was adding 5000 people a day to one church! I hear it preached all of the time that we can agree to disagree, bull; our Father is not divided! Can the hand disagree with the arm? If it does the body is handicapped, is Christ handicapped? Look at what the Word says the Church should be like.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1

One accord, one mind, the church is not one today, we are divided, different doctrines, creeds, and whatever other term we may want to use, but not one.

“For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” 1 Corinthians 1:11-13

Let me ask you what is the first question that you are asked when you tell someone that you are saved? Usually it is what church do you go to? Are you a Baptist, a Lutheran, a Methodist, a whatever, is Christ divided? Are we serving the Living God when denominations all seek their own interpretation? Faith that we should be one comes from hearing the Truth, and the Truth sets us free to be used by our Father with all of His fullness! Through Christ we will move onto perfection and the glorious church without spot, wrinkle, or blemish will shine brightly throughout all of the world and the captives will be set free!
