[Christ, the Messiah] is therefore the Negotiator and Mediator of an [entirely] new agreement (testament, covenant), so that those who are called and offered it may receive the fulfillment of the promised everlasting inheritance--since a death has taken place which rescues and delivers and redeems them from the transgressions committed under the [old] first agreement. Can notable sinners really receive salvation so easily? Yes they can! We all can because Jesus died for us. Jesus rescued us and redeemed us from transgressions, all transgressions. We weren’t just easily delivered from little white lies or looking at the opposite sex with desire, we were delivered from murder, rape, and theft as well. Anyone who has been offered salvation receives its easily.
Far too often we want to make our gift a work, but its not. Salvation is a free gift given by our Father to those whom He has chosen to give it. Our Father always chooses the things that seem foolish to the world to confound those who believe that they are wise, 1 Corinthians 1:27. The world looks at the temporal things that are not eternal, when our Father looks at His eternal plans. So yes it is very easy for our Father to forgive and save a murderer or a rapist. This should give us such a great hope, because if they can easily be forgiven, so can we. The power of the Blood of Jesus is never challenged by the works of man.
