"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11
Ask yourself this, do you really consider yourself to be dead to sin? If you don’t, ask God why you don’t? God’s eternal Word says that we should consider ourselves to be dead to sin and alive unto Him just as Jesus is dead to sin and alive unto Him. We have studied that God has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, and we seriously have to ask ourselves, did our Father do it or didn’t He? We have studied that through the power of Christ that we have full access to a life without falling. We have seen that God has given us exceedingly great and precious promises and that we have taken on and are partakers of the Divine nature of God Himself! We have all of this because of the power of Christ! This is who God has made us because He loves us, He never leaves us and He never forsakes us, so our quickened flesh is always strong through the power of His might! If you stop and actually consider that all of this greatness and freedom we have is only because of God, it is easily grasped and believed. Because God has the ability to make us that way, He is God!
Satan wants us to dwell on our flesh: we’re just a human, our sin nature, our shortcomings, blah, blah, blah. But the Word of God proclaims that our mortal flesh, the very thing that the world and satan wants us to consider as an unmovable restriction in our lives, has actually now been made alive with God Himself. Through the power of the Holy Spirit within us, God has now quickened our flesh! God knew that our flesh was nothing but corruption, so He did something about it, He gave us something to overcome it, something that pertained to godliness, He gave us Himself, and the Light that He is has driven out the darkness that we were!
