Power In Our Speech And Our Preaching

"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor the princes of this world, that come to nought," 1 Corinthians 2: 4-6

Paul spoke exactly like Jesus did, he told the people to believe in Christ because of the signs that they saw God performing through him! James told people the same, believe because of what they saw God doing, and that there was really no other way for people to believe, there was no other way to show it! The point to really grab hold of is this, even the least of us, can be used by God to show His signs through! This is not just for the preacher, or the evangelist, this is how God uses each and every one of us! “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” Matthew 11:11 We need to become so bold as to look in the mirror and see if the signs of God are being shown through us. Jesus didn’t lie, He wasn’t just speaking to fill up the last part of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus said that the signs of God would absolutely follow us, and the Holy Spirit confirmed this Truth through Paul, James, John, Peter, and the hundred and twenty in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost! Out of the mouths of two or three let everything be confirmed! God spoke through the Prophets of the Old Testament that He would work through us, God showed us how He works by working through Jesus, and He showed us how He works by working through the Apostles, believers, and through Paul in the Book of Acts. God doesn’t change; He will work through us as He always has worked, through signs and wonders, and not just through enticing words! God never just talks about changing a situation, He changes the situation! He is a God of loving actions and He loves to use us as the instruments of His grace to show the world who He is!
