The Power OF The Lord's Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.” Matthew 6:9

Here is the really powerful thing about our own lives, when Jesus taught us to pray, He said to begin the prayer with, “Our Father.” Thus Jesus is telling us to consider ourselves equal with God, and He said to do this because it is the Truth, God is now our Father. We can pray this because we are now one with Jesus. We can pray this with all of the confidence and boldness that Jesus prayed it! That is the measure of love that our Father has for us, that He allowed us to be born again of Him. He used the same power that He used to bring Jesus into a body, His Spirit, and He is allowed to do it for us because Jesus was sacrificed and His Blood was shed, and there was no fault found in Him! We are not born of the will of man; we are born of God! “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name; Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13

A child does not choose to be born; he is just born. It is the parents that willed it. Well, the same is true with us, we can seek God, but He is the One Who chooses for us to be born again. Many are called but few are chosen. Now our Father is not stingy, He would that all men be saved, but He knows the hearts of all men, and He sees what is Truth, and He chooses who will be born again. That is a powerful Truth, because so many believe that we are the ones who choose to be born again, which is why they believe that we can fall away and loose our salvation! But we are not born again by a man’s will, or by our own will, we are born by God’s Will. There is no fooling God; He has no illegitimate children, that is why Jesus said that we should pray in a way that tells the world we are equal with our Father, Who is God! We are a chosen generation and we are a royal priesthood. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light:” 1 Peter 2:9
