For me to live is Christ [His life in me], and to die is gain [the gain of the glory of eternity].
O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? 1 Corinthians 15:55
As for my attitude, though I am absent [from you] in body, I am present in spirit, and I have already decided and passed judgment, as if actually present, 1 Corinthians 5:3
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]. 1 John 4:18
The perfect love of our Father drives all fear from us. Probably the greatest fear that we have is the fear of death and the love of our Father drives that from us. His love not only drives the fear of death in regards to us, but the fear of the death of others as well. The fear of a friend dying, or a child, or family member is all driven out by the Truth that the death of the flesh does not end us. This peace keeps us and allows us to be used even during tragic events that end in death.
Love allows us to have peace that passes all understanding. Love causes us to understand that we are eternal beings and that Jesus has been glorified to give all eternal life.
[Just as] You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. John 17:2
