Revelation 15:1-2

1 THEN I saw another wonder (sign, token, symbol) in heaven, great and marvelous [warning of events of ominous significance]: There were seven angels bringing seven plagues (afflictions, calamities), which are the last, for with them God's wrath (indignation) is completely expressed [reaches its climax and is ended].
Once again, as with the start of each new definition of a tool of our Father’s wrath, we need to remember that the Book of Revelation is not written in specific chronological order. Jesus is simply going back and showing John, in greater clarity, the expression of our Father’s wrath during the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation. These last Seven Plagues, along with the Seven Seals, the Seven Bowls, the Seven Trumpets, the Four Horseman, the Four Angels, the Locusts, and the Three Woes show us the complete picture of the last 3 1/2 years of this time in earth’s history. Jesus repeatedly shows John these things in sevens; the number seven represents that the wrath of our Father is righteous. It also allows us to know that everything that is happening is perfectly controlled by our Father. These last plagues, or these last clarifications of events, are released from our Father and they bring to a close His wrath on wickedness.
2 Then I saw what seemed to be a glassy sea blended with fire, and those who had come off victorious from the beast and from his statue and from the number corresponding to his name were standing beside the glassy sea, with harps of God in their hands.
This chapter began with John telling us that these are the last events of the Great Tribulation. He told us of seven angels with seven last plagues and then immediately after Jesus tells John that these are the last events, He shows John a calm and glassy sea. Jesus shows us that there are many of us who are standing beside this place of peace and power. Jesus shows us that the children of God have been victorious over the anti-christ and He shows us that our praise, the harps, are directly from our Father. We are standing beside a calm sea that is blended with fire, and that fire is the power of the Holy Spirit. We are victorious because we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be more than conquerors through Christ Who loves us, Romans 8:37. Even during all of this tribulation, we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be in a calm place, Philippians 4:7. During all of the trials for the wicked we have been empowered to praise our Father, because greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world, 1 John 4:4!
Even if we are chosen to be martyred during this time, we will be empowered to be calm and empowered to praise our Father as it is happening. There is an anointing that is coming on the children of God that will pass all understanding. We have seen glimpses of this anointing of peace at work in Stephen, Peter, Paul, and John. During the 3 1/2 years of Tribulation this anointing will be on all of the chosen ones.
