One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:6
Our Father, Who is God, is the Father of everyone. God is through all and He is in all. That means that He is through and in us whether we acknowledge Him or not. Another way of saying this is that we all have varying degrees of faith. Some of us have been empowered with a lot of faith, some of us with a little, and some with very little, but we all have some faith, Romans 12:3. We all have some faith because our Father is in us all and through us all.
Ephesians is so often taught as if it is only speaking to those of us who have been empowered to know that Jesus is Lord. But our Father doesn’t just say all believers here, He says all. Now with that in mind let’s look at verses 13-14
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Ephesians 4:13-14
Right now none of us has been enlightened with full faith. Yet there is a ton of arrogance with religious people. There are so many that confess that because they have been given a little more faith then another person that they will get to spend eternity with our Father and those who have less and don’t know about Jesus yet will not. The Truth is none of us have complete faith yet, but one day we all will. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess the Truth that Jesus is Lord, Romans 14:11. One day we all will be perfect and we all will know the Truth that will set us free.
Just because a person hasn’t yet been empowered with the faith to accept Jesus doesn’t mean that they won’t. Even if they die before they do, it is our spirits that confess this Truth, not our flesh, and our spirits never die. These people will be given another chance to see and confess the Truth just as those who were in Hades did when Jesus went to them after He was crucified, 1 Peter 3-18-20. We are all in our Father and our Father is in us all and we will all one day come to have perfect faith. Jesus was that successful on the Cross!
