Want To Be The Greatest?

“But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. And He sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, if any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.” Mark 9:34-35

Notice that Jesus did not rebuke the Disciples here for desiring to be great! He actually told them how to do it and according to Jesus, to be the greatest we must be the servant of all. There is no better way to serve others than by desiring that God serve them with all of His Spiritual Gifts through us! Jesus is the greatest, and that is how He served God and man! God’s love is expressed in action and not just in word! Through the power of Christ we should desire to be first, we should desire all of God’s Spiritual Gifts, we should desire to excel in them, and by doing so, what we are truly desiring is to love as Jesus loves! Greater is He that is within us than he that is in the world and as He is, so are we in this world! The Mind of Christ knows that we have been strengthened with all that is needed, so that we can be used in the fullness of God, and we now have the Mind of Christ! The sign of Jesus’ return will be that the Gospel is preached to every nation and this is the power that God will preach it in: with signs and wonders. We will say to the world if you don’t believe us for the Word, believe us for the works that you see God performing through us! The world will see God through us and they will know that we are now one with Him through the power of Jesus, and they will believe! Jesus is Lord and Jesus said they would!

Father I thank you that You grant to each and every one of us a spirit of Truth that desires to be great!

I know why great signs and wonders do not follow me.
Here is what I wrote about it.

Thanks for the comment and I read your posting. Here is what God showed me as I was reading it: signs followed the Apostles before Jesus was crucified and they had not yet received the Holy Ghost. They were so amazed that they had an arguemnt over who would be the greatest, yet signs and wonders still followed them. They marvelled over it and Jesus said marvel more that their names were written in the Lambs Book of Life.

God has really been laying it on my heart to preach about Him doing the works through us, just as He did through Jesus. And God keeps telling me to share that faith comes from hearing and hearing by the His Word. God also keeps telling me that we shall know the Truth and the Truth will make us free. God knows our hearts and if their is something in us that is hindering Him from working through us than He will prune it out so that He can.

Be blessed in the power of His might!

Love, Brad
