Our Renewed Minds

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].  Romans 12:2

In this world we are trained and widely encouraged to look to jobs, paychecks, insurances, marriages, education, doctors, medicine, and government to provide us with the peace in safety that will make for a happy and prosperous life. In America we are told to look to our Constitution and our Bill of Rights to bring us freedom and hope. But our Father tells us that we are not to be conformed to this world and all of these things are of the world. We are told to be transformed and to have an entirely different mind then the world has. Jesus tells us in the Sermon on the Mount to not to seek the things of the world, but rather to seek the Kingdom of God.

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Matthew 6:33

So the question is how will our Father cause us to think and believe? The answer to this question can be found in Mark 4:14, “The sower sows the Word.” Jesus tells us that the ability to understand every parable, or every secret of the Kingdom, is found in our ability to understand the parable of the Sower, Mark 4:13. So the secret and the mind that we should have is one that is always looking to sow the Word. Every action of our lives should revolve around giving the Word to people and the Word is Jesus. So we should always be looking to give Jesus freely to everyone. This is the key to having an abundant life. And amen we are not alone in doing it. If we were, we would absolutely 100% of the time fail. We are never left alone and we are never forsaken, we have the Holy Spirit with us constantly strengthening us to sow the Word. Our abundance does not come from pay checks, investments, insurances, doctors, or governments, our abundance comes from the Holy Spirit causing us to sow the Truth that sets everyone free.

Our Father may have us actually read the Bible to sow the Word. He may have us quote it, paraphrase it, or just speak it without ever referencing that it is the Word. He may have us exhibit it through our actions. However He does it is up to our Father, but our peace and joy is that our Father will do it through us.

If there is anything in our lives that we are looking to before the Word and freely giving it, our peace is that our Father will get rid of it. He will never allow us to trust in any worldly thing. Religion will try to tell us that we have to make this choice and that we have to renew our own minds. Our peace however is that this responsibility is not ours, but our Father’s and He is very successful at accomplishing all of the things that He desires. Our Father is always greater in us then anything that is in this world!
