And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death. Philippians 3:10
Why is it that people believe and have no problem with accepting that we can be filled with satan, or a demon, and act with outright evil, yet to believe that we can be filled with and one with God and act in His true righteousness is unthinkable? It just never made any sense to me. But look here, Paul didn’t struggle with it and he was encouraging the Philippians to be the same way. We should not want our own righteousness; we should desire the fullness of God’s holiness and righteousness. Think about our Father’s righteousness, the glory of it, the freedom of it, the love of it, and the power of it. Living completely in God’s righteousness should be our desire and hope.
How does our Father tell us that we can have His righteousness? We are able to have it by faith!
Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
Jesus will Author and Finish the faith within us so that we can have the very righteousness and holiness of God! Jesus prayed in John 17 that we would have His glory, well what is Jesus’ glory, it’s righteousness. It is the righteousness of God that allowed Jesus to bare all of our sins and not be condemned to eternal death and Hell. Jesus is leading us into the paths of righteousness and Jesus is our Head, and Jesus will insure that we live in and enjoy our Father’s full righteousness!
