Revelation 21:22-23

22 I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent [Himself] and the Lamb [Himself] are its temple.
  • We are told here in verse 22 that our Father is Omnipotent. We are shown here that He is in control of all things and that He is everywhere, all of the time.
  • This is an important Truth because we are told in the Bible that those who are thrown into the Lake of Fire are cast out of our Father’s presence.
  • Such people will pay the penalty and suffer the punishment of everlasting ruin (destruction and perdition) and eternal exclusion and banishment from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 2 Thessalonians 1:9
  • So that means that anyone and anything that is cast into the Lake of Fire has to cease to be, or our Father, and Jesus Who is One with Him, would not be Omnipotent.
  • We are told that the Lamb is the Temple, meaning that we will all be in Jesus. His Spirit will consume all.
  • Yet for us there is [only] one God, the Father, Who is the Source of all things and for Whom we [have life], and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through and by Whom are all things and through and by Whom we [ourselves exist]. 1 Corinthians 8:6
  • For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). Colossians 1:16-17
  • For it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering. Hebrews 2:10
  • So just how many sons will Jesus bring into glory?
  • Well then, as one man’s trespass [one man’s false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men. Romans 5:18
  • So you can see just how glorious the New Jerusalem's Temple will be. A mere physical building could not glorify what Jesus has accomplished for all men.
23 And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.
  • Sun represents the Truth and Jesus and moon represents the church often times in prophecy. But here they must really be the sun and the moon, because Jesus is very much needed and enjoyed in eternity and we all are the church.
