Revelation 22:4-6

4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
  • Jesus’ Name will be on our foreheads, so we are shown that it will be plain to see that we are the Bride of Christ in eternity.
  • And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent. John 17:3
  • Why will it be important for everyone to recognize us?
  • Take note! I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and learn and acknowledge that I have loved you. Revelation 3:9
  • We studied in verse 2 of Revelation 22 that there will be 12 trees bearing 12 manner of fruit for the nations. 12 is a perfect number in prophecy. 12 is a number that represents perfect government: the 12 tribes of Judah, the 12 Apostles.
  • We also were shown in verse 1 that there will be a river flowing from the Throne of our Father.
  • Jesus told us that from us, His Bride, there would be a river of living water that would flow, John 7:38.
  • We have been raised up together and made to sit together in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 2:6
  • We are the River that flows from the Throne that heals, protects, and serves the guests through the power of the Holy Spirit that is within us.
5 And there shall be no more night; they have no need for lamplight or sunlight, for the Lord God will illuminate them and be their light, and they shall reign [as kings] forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities).
  • We will rule and reign with Jesus. Think about how Jesus rules and reigns.
  • [That] Jesus, knowing (fully aware) that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was [now] returning to God, Got up from supper, took off His garments, and taking a [servant’s] towel, He fastened it around His waist. Then He poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the [servant’s] towel with which He was girded. John 13:3-5
  • Jesus rules by serving. Peter said that He would not allow Jesus to wash his feet and Jesus told Peter that if He didn’t then he could not be one with Him, John 13:5-8.
  • Jesus fed those who would later cry out for His death, Matthew 16:9.
  • Jesus forgave those who had tortured and killed Him, Luke 23:34.
  • Jesus miraculously created food for people that did not believe Him, John 21:9
  • Jesus never changes, Hebrews 13:8.
  • Jesus is the Greatest, because He is the greatest servant, Matthew 23:11.
  • This is how we too will be empowered to rule and reign, by serving our guests.
6 And he [of the seven angels further] said to me, These statements are reliable (worthy of confidence) and genuine (true). And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His messenger (angel) to make known and exhibit to His servants what must soon come to pass.
