Colossians 1:6

6 Which has come to you. Indeed, in the whole world [that Gospel] is bearing fruit and still is growing [by its own inherent power], even as it has done among yourselves ever since the day you first heard and came to know and understand the grace of God in truth. [You came to know the grace or undeserved favor of God in reality, deeply and clearly and thoroughly, becoming accurately and intimately acquainted with it.]

This is such a great Truth, our Father and His Word work through their own power. We are not the catalysts for the Word to work. The Word will absolutely work through us and for us, but it is not dependent on us for its success.

Sky and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. Matthew 24:35

But the Word of the Lord (divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:25

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it]. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

The Word has super human power and it works through us. The Word is alive and active. The Word of God energizes us and causes us to be effective. We don’t have to understand it for it to do all of this. The Apostles didn’t understand the Truth completely, they questioned and fought each other all of the time and yet they were used powerfully to serve. They were used because the Word does not fall void to the earth, it accomplishes all that our Father intends for it to do. The Word causes us to believe, it causes us to have faith even though we haven’t seen many of the things that it says.

For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). 2 Peter 3

The Word causes us to know that God is real. It causes us to know that God is our Father and that He will never leave us or forsake us. The Word has its own power to do this for us. If it were up to us to first believe or accept the Word it would never bear any fruit through us because there would always be a doubt or a question. But thank God the Word and our Father’s power work effectively through us even while we are still in the flesh and in this world.
