Walk As Jesus

"And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 2:3-6

Do you know how we know that we are in God? According to the Word of God we will know that we are in God when His love is perfected within us. Wow, how many will dare to say that God’s love is perfected within them? And do you know how we know that God’s love is perfected within us? We will know when we keep His Word. Double wow! How many will even dare to think that they keep our Father's Word? But let’s go on, and if we say that we abide in Jesus, than we should be walking as Jesus walked. Triple wow, walk as Jesus? These are not typical Sunday morning sermons are they? But, as we have discussed so many times before, wherever we read that we are required to do something in the Bible, we can find where our Father has said that He is the One doing it through us. So let’s see what we find concerning these requirements.

First we are to keep God’s Word. “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land I gave your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your God. I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of your tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen." Ezekiel 36:26-30

Well that is an awesome enough Truth to start with. Our Father is the One Who is keeping us from all uncleanness; our Father has saved us from ourselves! I don’t know about you, but that is cause for a great big A-men! Our Father is the One Who is causing us to keep His commandments and God is causing us to keep His Word. Our Father has given us a heart that desires to do this, and a heart and spirit that allow us to do it. Now, after reading these verses, ask yourself this, does God struggle with doing anything? So if it is our Father within us that is saving us from our uncleanness and it is our Father within us Who is causing us to live right, where is the struggle? There is none, because we are now more than conquerors through Christ Who loves us. And our Father can now do all things through us by the power of Christ that strengthens us! Christ has strengthened us so that we can now be the Temples of God and if we abide in Him and His Word abides within us, we can ask what we will and it shall be done, and herein is God glorified that we bare much fruit, and so are we His disciples!

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 “Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because is seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him, but ye know Him, for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:17 We are born of God, we are born from His will, stop and take hold of that, you are saved because God willed you to be saved! Your not just kind of accepted, the Great I am willed it, that is some truly powerful stuff, condemnation gets blown away when we realize that we are here because God willed it. We have a new heart within us today that is directly from God, we have His very Spirit abiding within us, strengthening us, encouraging us, teaching us, and guiding us. God is saving us from all of our uncleanness and God is causing us to keep His Word. So, the love of God is perfected within us, and since His love is perfected within us, we know that He is in us!

This is our Father's will and desire for all to have, nowhere do we read that this is reserved for just a select few, our Father would that all men be saved, and now is the day of our salvation! Faith comes form hearing and hearing comes from the Word of God, and hope is the precursor of faith, and our faith is Authored and Finished by Jesus Himself! None of this is hard for Jesus, and He is perfectly equipped to perfectly fulfill it within our lives! Our Father's yoke is easy and His burden is light. "For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." Matthew 11:30 It doesn’t get any easier than this does it? You want God perfected in you, keep His Word, and O, by the way, God will do it for you! Bam! Take that devil, we have God, the One Who sent a couple of angels over to throw you out of Heaven and the One Who took the keys of death and hell right from you and the One Who took the world back that He allowed you steal! Yeh, He is the One within us, Who is keeping us! It’s His will! Even if we are weak, that’s all right, because when we are weak, He is strong, and His strength is perfected in our weakness. “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 13:10 Evil, throw the best you have at us, we rejoice even at the worst, and as you do it devil, we grow even stronger! We win in everything, we are victorious in all things, and we are sealed with the Spirit, and Jesus will never leave us or forsake us, and this is how we are forevermore!

Next, we see that our Father says that we are to walk as Jesus walked. “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3 “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:11 “For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.” Ephesians 5:30 If these verses are true, how can’t we walk like Jesus? There is a freedom here that is not being enjoyed by a vast majority of Christians. Our Father has provided a rest for us and we need to talk about it, faith will come that will set the captives free!

Our Father has really been showing me that we preach against the symptoms and not the problem. We look at someone who may be struggling with sin, and we preach against that particular sin, but in reality the problem is that the person has not let our Father into his or her life to keep them from the uncleanness. The symptom may be cured, but if the problem isn’t fixed and the union with God accepted, another sin will arise. “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Luke 11:24-26

So many believe this is just how we have to live until Jesus returns, but from the Truth’s we have studied, we can see that this kind of thinking is false. Our Father said that He would keep us; and man, if God keeps us, we are kept! With God we have perfect love, access to the holiest, sanctification, glory, power, and eternal faith, hope, and love! Our Father has saved us to the uttermost, Jesus ever lives to intercede for us, we now have the mind of Christ, we are the Temples of God, Jesus is our Shepherd, and God is our Dad. As He is, because we are born of His seed, so are we now in this world! Salvation is more than what is being preached, and in Jesus’ Name that is done away with, and God is allowing laborers to boldly proclaim His Truth everywhere, and anyone who is preaching anything but the Truth, let them be cursed! “As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:9

Jesus is Lord, and all who call on the Name of The Lord, shall be saved!
