We Are Now In The Light And We Can Enjoy It

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light:" 1 Peter 2:9

We are chosen of God, we are a royal priesthood, holy and peculiar! Don’t you just love that; God says that we are peculiar! And we are! Think about it? In the world there is tribulation, but through the power of Christ we are of good cheer. If we get slapped on the left cheek, we are strong in the power of His might to offer up the right one. We have peace that passes all understanding. We live to serve and while we have all of the power and victory and glory of God within us, we esteem others higher than we esteem ourselves. We believe that to be great; you have to be the biggest servant. We actually look forward to death, death where is thy victory, grave where is thy sting? The world looks at history to try and figure God out, we simply see Him by faith. We speak of a Savior that we have never seen with our physical eyes, yet we are intimately acquainted with Him in the Spirit. We are all of these things so that we can shew forth the praises of God, Whom has called us out of darkness and into His glorious Light!

That is a fundamental Truth that the Church needs to grow up in, that we are now in the Light. “This then is the message we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5 "At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you." John 14:20

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" 1 Peter 3:18

"According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and promises: that by these ye may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped corruption that is in this world through lust. " 2 Peter 1:3-4

We are now in God’s Light, once we said yes to Jesus and accepted God’s calling His Light drove out the darkness. Christ suffered once to bring us to God, and the Blood that was shed by Jesus at the Cross has allowed God to perfect us in every good work, and it has allowed God to give us all things that pertain unto life and unto godliness. Because of the Blood we now have the knowledge of God and we know that He has called us unto glory and virtue, whereby we are given exceeding great promises and we know that we are now partakers of His Divine Nature. Through Christ we have escaped corruption and we are now in the Light! The Just was given for the unjust; the price of sin has been paid in full for us.

All of these verses are Truth, there is not one lie within them. So if we believe them what should the Church be doing with them, how should we look? “And Jesus said, Who touched Me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with Him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest Thou, Who touched Me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched Me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before Him, she declared unto Him before all the people for what cause she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.” Luke 8:45-47 Jesus was just walking down the street and virtue was overflowing from Him, He didn’t even have to give it; it could be grasped! We have been called unto virtue and we are partakers of God’s Divine Nature, this is how Jesus lived, shouldn’t this be happening in the Church as well? I mean everywhere Jesus went people where healed, it wasn’t just a once and a while thing; actually when it didn’t happen, Jesus marveled at the unbelief of the people. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that beliveth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.” John 14:12 Jesus never took credit, He said that it was God within Him Who was doing the works, and then He said that God would us to do the same things. Well of course, God never changes, if He did it through Jesus, He will do it through us. He did it through the Apostles, and He did it through Paul, and Jesus says that He will do it through all who believe.

This is true godly service, allowing God to work through you at His level, not at yours. His normal is our miraculous, and He said that He would do above that which we can think of or ask for, and He said He would do it by the power that is at work within us! God is concerned with the whole person, the whole spirit, the whole soul, and the whole body. Virtue allows us to give as God gives and Jesus has given us virtue and all of the other things that pertain unto life and godliness. We have been redeemed with the Blood of Christ and we have been justified by it. We are born again, we are born again by the very Spirit of God, and we are one with Him, just as the branch is one with the vine.

"Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be glory for ever and ever. A-men." Hebrews 13:20-21

"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the Living God, Who giveth us richly all things to enjoy," 1 Timothy 6:17

God has given us all of these things richly to enjoy. God has given all things that pertain to godliness and not just enough to get by; He has richly bestowed them on us. God gave us Himself, what more do we need? He will keep us unto salvation and eternal life. He has given us His Holy Spirit so that we can know all things. We have been given the spotless Blood of Christ, which has totally redeemed and sanctified us. All of this has been given freely and richly, and now we are partakers of the Divine nature. We have escaped the corruption of this world through salvation. God gave us these to enjoy, ask yourself, is the Church enjoying them?

Let God minister to you everyday this very fact: that He loved us so much, that He did something to insure that we would spend eternity with Him and that eternity began the day you made Jesus Lord of your life. Once you have truly said, "yes I believe," He will keep you. It’s born into us to have a spirit and a mind that takes no thought for the flesh and sin, we are righteousness minded, not sin conscious. The Blood is bigger than we are, it has provided us access to the very Divine nature of God, it allows us to live for God as Jesus does, Romans 6:5-11. God knows our needs and He knows the weakness of the flesh and He took care of it. Satan wants us to stay in condemnation, he will say our flesh is evil; our flesh is weak, our flesh, our flesh. But God said I am the Shepherd, I am the Head, I am the Gardener, I will keep you through My Spirit, and your flesh can't do anything about it, it has been quickened by the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. Cast the burden of your flesh onto God and enter freely into His rest. He has given it to you to enjoy!

"For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His." Hebrews 4:10 God sent Jesus and the Blood has completed its work, it has overcome the evil one and has set us free, so we can have rest. Because of Jesus we can have peace, joy, hope, faith, love, and we can them richly and we can enjoy them. We are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, peculiar, and we are in His Light.

Have a great day in the Lord, Who has done it all for us.
