We Are Dead And Free From Sin Through Christ

“Knowing this that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:6

Our bodies of sin have been destroyed! Don’t you just love the word destroyed? Our bodies of sin have not been broken, they are not just turned off, our bodies of sin have been destroyed! They cannot be rebuilt; they have been crucified with Christ and they are dead and hid in Christ in God! And why did God destroy our bodies of sin? So that from the very beginning moment of our salvation, we could no longer serve sin! Praise God we are now one with Him through Christ and we no longer serve sin! We no longer serve sin because of God, because of His power, because of His glory, because of His Light that has driven out all of the darkness from us! Our Fathers light that now dwells within us is the only power for this freedom! Remember how we studied earlier that God's Holy Spirit that dwells within us has quickened our mortal bodies? With these Truths do you see how God sees us? Do you see who we have really become in Christ? We are no longer on our own, we have been grafted into the Living Vine, Who is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This is why we can consider ourselves dead to sin, and this is how we can consider ourselves alive unto God. We die to sin only once and we do it by being chosen of God and empowered to accept Jesus as Lord. And then when we are born again Jesus reveals His glory through us. If you struggle with this, ask for faith, look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. There is no great burden here, just ask and receive the ability to fully believe who God has made you. Ask so that your joy is made full, then God will receive all of the praise and glory, and the world will believe and be saved! It’s really just that simple! The burden of Christ is easy and His yoke is light and pleasantly borne!

The force that separated God from man was sin. This is death! We cannot have godliness and have sin as well. Bitter water and sweet water do not come from the same fountain. “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” James 3:11 God has given us everything that pertains to godliness, and one of those things is freedom from sin, which is life and life abundantly! “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3 Since we are dead with Christ, which is God’s Anointing, we now live because of His anointing; we now live united with Him, called unto glory and virtue! Jesus is the Light of the world, and the Light drives out all of the darkness of sin! “Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Ephesians 5:14

God has much more for us to study on this and through the power of the Holy Spirit within us we will. I don’t know about you, but I just get so excited when I see these types of verses. My whole life, Christians have been so sin oriented. What I mean is this, so many of us are so concerned with the weakness of the flesh, the condemnation from the pulpit, the amount of time that has been preached on human shortcomings! It was always taught, if not explicitly, it was implied, that we as mere men could never rise above our lowly state of the flesh. Our flesh was given so much power and strength in its weakness. The attitude seemed to be that we would just have to live with it, we should fight against sin, but never really expect that we could not sin! And when we did sin, there would be self condemnation and condemnation from others, but praise God’s Holy Name one day, in the sweet by and by, He would come and rescue us from all of ourselves. This is not the Truth of our salvation in Christ! The eternal Word of God proclaims that God has already come to us by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Word of God teaches us that God already did something, and that we are now alive with and one with, the One Who would keep us from sin! God never says that we have to wait! God always seems to have me gravitate back to this subject, because for me this is the true power of our salvation. Adam was separated from God because of sin, but we now have Christ, and He will never leave us and He will never forsake us, Hebrews 13:5, and that means the separating power of sin has to be done away with for us, and it is, and it only is, by the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
