We Are Now The Temple Of God

"Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" 1 Corinthians 3:16

“When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the Glory of the Lord filled His Temple.” 1 Kings 8:10-11 In the Old Testament there was a physical building known as the Temple of God, it was made of wood, stone, and precious metals. It was built to the exacting standards that God had prescribed, and when Solomon had completed the work given to him, God filled this man made building with His Glory. The Glory of God was so great that the priests were unable to work because of it. Mere men were unable to work because of the Glory of God that was present. Remember what Jesus prayed in John 17? Remember how Jesus prayed that we would have the exact same Glory that He has. Jesus prayed that we would have the magnificence of God, the Excellency of God, the Dignity of God, God’s preeminence, God’s grace, His majesty, and His splendor that is His glory, dwelling within us! These are the descriptions of what filled that man made Temple and as the glory of God filled that room, it completely overcame the Priests and they were unable to work.

Now here is the really cool part, man can’t work in the presence of God’s glory! “For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.” Hebrews 4:10 Yet as the Temple was used by God, so are we! How? By God working through us! We are now strong by the Anointing of Christ that has strengthened us. Our flesh as been quickened, and God is now able to do all things through us! As our Father is so are we in this world, and through the power of Jesus we now are the vessels that are used by God to bring His glory and fruit to the world! “That they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me. And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are One: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.” John 17:21-23 Our own works, our dead works, our carnal mind, the enmity of our flesh, our sinful natures are destroyed by the Glory of God that now dwells within us! Yet we live, but it is no longer us that lives, it is God’s Anointing within us that lives, and it is now God working through us! The Light has driven out the darkness and we can now be used by God to do all things by the strength of His Anointing that is upon us! That is how powerful we have been made in Christ. Salvation is Awesome!
