The Power Of God's Perfect Love

And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments). Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Gospel] is not in him. But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself. 1 John 2:3-6
Praise God for the power of His Word. We can see that the love of our Father is now perfected within us, that there is no occasion for us to stumble, and that we are actually able to walk as Jesus walked. These Truth's are what our Father has to say about those who are empowered to accept the sacrifice of Jesus and who are baptized with the Holy Spirit. Do you see that salvation is not us just getting by, barely making it into Heaven? Our Father talks about us abiding in His Holiest. Our Father says that as He is, so are we in this world, 1 John 4:17, and our Father says that through the Blood of Christ we are saved to the uttermost, Hebrews 7:25! Our Father tells us to consider ourselves dead to sin, in the same way that Jesus is dead to sin, Romans 6:11. Jesus tells us that we will be used by God to do greater works than He did, John 14:12, and Jesus tells us that the Holy Ghost will teach us all things, John 14:26, and knowing perfect love is part of all things.

Salvation is what brings us into line with what God created: man in His image. But salvation goes so far beyond just being in our Fathers image, it goes into us being one with Him, there is now no separation between us. We are just like a branch that only lives because the vine is connected to it. We now only live because we are always connected to Jesus. Jesus is the One Who is alive within us, so of course we would have and share in His personality, His character, His abilities, His everything, we are now one, and the only reason we live is because He lives. We are flesh of His flesh and bone of His bones, Ephesians 5:30! We now are one with the very Spirit of God. We are one with Who God is, what He feels, what He wants, and what He desires. Jesus has sent all that our Father is to become one with us and to dwell within us, the same Spirit that strengthens and makes God Who He is, now dwells within us and strengthens us to be as He is!

Think about it, do you hear that the Church actually has the power to never stumble or fall? Have you ever heard that God’s love can actually be perfected within us, or that we are saved to the uttermost? I have heard that we should strive for these things, but it was preached and implied that we must use our own efforts to get there, and if we did everything just right than it would come. It was never preached to me that we couldn’t help but be there, because we are now one with God, and He is always one with us. So the Truth that sets us free is that we cannot help but keep what Jesus taught, because it is a Father within us, never leaving us or forsaking us, Who is doing the works.
