Ephesians 1:15-19

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, Ephesians 1:15-19

Jesus tells us in the Gospels that we are to ask and that it will be given to us. In these verses lies the secret to living an abundant life and the secret is: live to ask for other’s to be blessed. Ask that other's are wise and filled with light. Ask our Father that He fill other’s with His glory and His power. Ask that your enemies are blessed. Ask that they are forgiven and enjoy eternity with us. It’s really just this simple, ask for other’s and take no thought for yourself. Jesus tells us that if we want to be the greatest, then we have to be the biggest servants. Jesus tells us to take no thought for our own life’s. We are told to take thought for the Kingdom and the Kingdom is those around us. The Kingdom of God is those who look like they belong and even those who don’t.

Jesus also tells us that when we ask that we are to do it in our most private rooms. He tells us that what we ask for in private will be rewarded for us in the open. He tells us that we aren’t suppose to talk about it, that what we are ask for is to be kept between only between us and our Father. Jesus so plainly tells us on the Sermon on the Mount that if we don’t do these things and that if we pray in the open or if we let people know what we are doing that our being noticed will be the only reward that we get. So get private and be blessed beyond expression.

Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent? If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him! Matthew 7:7-11

I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened. Luke 11:8-10

Everyone will receive if they ask. Some will receive the reward of being noticed by others as they ask to be seen. And other’s will receive their reward from our Father as they ask in private and keep it between them and God.
