Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] Ephesians 2:8-9

We have been delivered from judgment only because of our Father’s Grace. We did nothing at all on our own to deserve or earn it. We didn’t go to church to get it. We didn’t believe on our own or accept on our own, it was just given to us. It’s all just a gift. For whatever reason God chose us. He authored our Faith. He filled us with His Love. He gave us His Spirit so that we could abound in Hope and He recreated us. It was all just a gift, no work brought it on. God knew that we were going to doubt, be scared, question, and mess up and He still freely gave us the perfect gift of being one with Him.

We cannot take pride in ourselves for our salvation, but what I think is even more important is that we cannot condemn ourselves or others for. The peace in all of this is so wonderful. We can’t lose our salvation because we never did anything to earn it. Salvation was just given to us by God and God never takes back or changes His mind about what He has given. So if all of this is true, how could we ever condemn another person? We can’t and therein lies our really enjoyable life's. We know that we have been completely forgiven in spite of ourselves, so we can completely forgive in spit of what others have done. Life without condemnation is a wonderful thing. Freely we have received and freely our Father will cause us to forgive. His Love within us will not allow anything else.

There are a lot of us in religion that want to focus on sin. Why? I am asking myself that question as well. If it is all by Grace, sin really doesn’t matter. I honestly believe the only way that we will ever stop doing the bad things that we call sin is when we realize that Grace has trumped sin, it has super abounded it. Out of the abundance of our hearts our mouths will speak, so we need to focus on Grace and the Light of the Truth will drive out all of the darkness.
