Ephesians 2:7

He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7

We have been made one with Jesus, we are now inseparable with Him and because we are we now enjoy joint seating with Him. Our Father allowed our joint heirship with Him to show people His Mercy and Grace, His limitless Grace. So the question is: is our Father just showing us off to none believers? Is He using us to taunt those who do not believe or to condemn them for their unbelief? Or, is He using us to forgive people in spite of themselves? Jesus is the Son of God and when He came to the earth He was born to an unmarried woman and He wasn’t even born to the Tribe of Levi, the Tribe chosen to serve God in the Temple. God dod not show Jesus off with pomp and circumstance. Jesus did not even ask to be served, but to serve. He didn’t even want people to know that He was the Lord. Jesus is the greatest ever because He was the biggest servant. So to be seated with Him means that we too are chosen and used by God to serve; and who we have been called to serve may surprise many Christians.

And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, Why does your Master eat with tax collectors and those [preeminently] sinful? But when Jesus heard it, He replied, Those who are strong and well (healthy) have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick. Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite [to repentance] the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin) Matthew 9:11-13

We have not been called to intercede and show mercy towards our fellow believer’s, we have been called and chosen to show Mercy and Grace towards those who do not believe. We have been ordained to bless those who curse us, pray for those who misuse us, and feed those who would kill us. We have been called to help those who make fun of our Heavenly Father and Family. We are called to help those who will in all likelihood not be in a church. Think of Jesus’ life and how He served the lost and you will see that He went to where they were. He did not bring them into a building, on a certain day, at a certain hour, to be helped. Jesus helped them right where they were, in the streets, in the markets, and in their homes.

Our Father has prearranged the path of us going out into the world and helping those who probably believe that they don’t need help. God has called us to be used to forgive people and show them Mercy and Grace in spite of themselves. They will mock us. They will abuse us and they may even kill us, but not one of them will ever answer for it. Because if they did, our lives and Jesus’ sacrifice would be in complete vain. If we have only been called to serve and show Mercy and Grace to our own family what good is it, even the hypocrites do that?

Our Father clearly uses us to demonstrate His Grace and Mercy, which means that people have to see it. Jesus is our Head and our Head will insure that our bodies, souls, and spirits will carry out our Father’s will of serving the lost. Where sin abounds our Father will use us to have His Grace superabound it.
