We Are Now Alive In Christ

"Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:4-11

We are now buried with Jesus by baptism! What does that mean, baptism? “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. But He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” Matthew 3:11 We are buried with Jesus through the baptism, or another word would be anointing, of the Holy Spirit of God. The power of the Holy Spirit’s Anointing upon us has crucified our flesh, and the Spirit has now made us alive together with God through Jesus Christ! We now walk in newness of life by the power of His resurrection that has been bestowed upon us! Just as Jesus lives through the power of God, so do we! This is why we are able to walk in newness of life, because we have been sealed with the Holy Ghost and we are now strong in the power of His might and we are now more than conquerors through Christ Who loves us!

Through the power of Christ in our lives we are now in the likeness of Jesus’ resurrection! Jesus is only alive because of the power of God that is within Him. Jesus lives by the power of the Holy Spirit that gives Him eternal life, and praise God we are now alive with Jesus through the exact same power of God. Just as Jesus is, so are we, in the likeness of His resurrection. We now have the same Spirit and the same life giving Anointing that Jesus has. We are now members of Jesus’ body, flesh of His flesh, and bone of His bone! Our old man is crucified with Christ, and behold all things are now new to us!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us unto Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed us the Word of reconciliation.” Romans 5:17-19

The Anointing of the Holy Ghost has destroyed our old man, the man that was nothing but sin, and we now walk in the newness of life that Jesus walks in! We have been crucified with Christ, and nevertheless we live, yet it is not us who lives, but Christ within us that now lives and greater is He that is within us, than He that is in the world!

Our bodies of sin have been destroyed! Don’t you just love that word destroyed? Our bodies of sin have not been broken, they are not just turned off, our bodies of sin have been destroyed! They cannot be rebuilt; they have been crucified with Christ and they are dead and hid in Christ in God! Why did God destroy our bodies of sin? So that from the very beginning moment of our salvation, we could no longer serve sin! Praise God we no longer serve sin! We no longer serve sin because of our Father's power that dwells within us. We cannot sin because of His power, because of His glory, because of His Light has driven out the darkness! Our Father's light now dwells within us!

Remember how we studied earlier that God's Holy Spirit that dwells within us has quickened our mortal bodies? Do you see how our Father sees us? Do you see who we have really become in Christ? We are no longer on our own, we have been grafted into the Living Vine, Who is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This is why we can consider ourselves dead to sin, and this is how we can consider ourselves alive unto God. We die to sin only once by being empowered with the Holy Spirit to accept Jesus and having our Father's glory revealed through us. If you struggle with this, ask for faith, look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. There is no great burden here, just ask and receive. Ask so that your joy is made full, then our Father will receive all of the praise and glory, and the world will believe and be saved! It’s really just that simple! The burden of Christ is easy and His yoke is light and pleasantly borne!

The force that separated God from man was sin. This is death! We cannot have godliness and have sin as well. Bitter water and sweet water do not come from the same fountain. “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” James 3:11 Our Father has given us everything that pertains to godliness, and one of those things is freedom from sin, which is life and life abundantly! “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3 Since we are dead with Christ, which is our Father's Anointing, we now live because of His anointing; we now live united with Him, called unto glory and virtue! Jesus is the Light of the world, and the Light drives out all of the darkness of sin! “Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Ephesians 5:14

Our Father has much more for us to study on this and through the power of the Holy Spirit that is within us we will. I don’t know about you, but I just get so excited when I see these types of verses. My whole life, Christians have been so sin oriented. What I mean is this, so many of us are so concerned with the weakness of the flesh. Condemnation is so often preached from the pulpit, way too much time has been spent preaching on human shortcomings! It was always taught, if not explicitly, it was implied, that we as mere men could never rise above our lowly state of the flesh. Our flesh was given so much power and strength in its weakness. The attitude seemed to be that we would just have to live with it, we should fight against sin, but never really expect that we could not sin! And when we did sin, there would be self condemnation and condemnation from others, but praise His Holy Name one day, in the sweet by and by, our Father will come and rescue us from all of ourselves. This is not the Truth of our salvation in Christ! The eternal Word of God proclaims that our Father has already come to us by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus! The Word of God teaches us that God already did something, and that we were now alive with and one with, the One Who would keep us from sin! Our Father never says that we have to wait! He always seems to have me gravitate back to this subject, because for me this is the true power of our salvation. Adam was separated from God because of sin, but we now have Christ, and He will never leave us and He will never forsake us, Hebrews 13:5, and that means the separating power of sin has to be done away with for us, and it is, and it only is, by the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Years ago when our Father began to show me this, He took me to 1 John 2:1, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous.” You know what God had jump off the page at me; that little Word, “if!” Our Father said if any man sin, not when every man sins. My whole life I had heard when, not if, and that was about as exciting for me as anything else that God had ever shown me in the Bible. Sin is not a given, God has provided a way, and the Righteous Savior Jesus is the way. Our Father has given us His very self to insure that it was if we sin, not when we sin, and praise God if it happens, we have an Advocate working on our behalf, right there in the Throne Room, completely defending us! Jesus is defending us, even if, isn’t that so great, if we sin, not when we sin!

We don’t have to defend ourselves, sin no longer separates us from the love of our Father. Sin no longer separates us from our Father as it did with Adam. We have passed from death unto life. Jesus now is our Advocate, our Defender, our Justifier, and our full Reconciliation. I hope you see this. God’s revelation on if, not when, will change your whole life. Jesus will give us the hope of if, not when. Jesus will also Author and Finish His faith within us to believe if, not when, just as He believes it, and then we will be dead to sin, and our relationship to sin will be broken. According to the Word of our Father our body that could do sin has been destroyed and we no longer are capable of sin.

But if we aren’t at that point of faith yet, we still have unbroken fellowship with our Father through the power of our Advocate Jesus Christ! And this is vitally important; there is now therefore no condemnation for us who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1! We are so blessed today. Our Father has flooded us with His fullness of Truth. He has given us His faith and the Truth has set us free! We have been justified, glorified, and conformed to His Divine Nature, and there is no sin in the Divine Nature of God! Sin no longer has dominion over us, its power, pleasure, presence, and penalty have been done away with through Jesus Christ. He made a shew of sin openly at the Cross; triumphing over it and His Light eternally keeps the darkness from us! This is who we are in Him and this is the Incorruptible Seed that we have been born of!

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:23 We are now alive in Christ and we have passed from death unto life and we now live unto God, just as Jesus lives unto God!
