Syria

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6

Our Father had Isaiah prophesy in Isaiah Chapter 17 that Damascus, the capital of Syria, would be destroyed and then would be uninhabitable.
The mournful, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning Damascus [capital of Syria, and Israel’s bulwark against Assyria]. Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins. Isaiah 17:1

Well recent events in Syria have a lot of people talking about the end times. Jesus tells us plainly not to be frightened by such events as Syria, because what happens in there is not what we are to look for to show us the end times. What we are to look for is the power of the Gospel of our Kingdom being preached to the entire world.
And this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end. Matthew 24:14

Damascus may very well be at its end, but that does not mean that the world is at its end. What will signal Jesus’ imminent return is when we see our Father using us as He never has before to preach the Gospel of His Kingdom. When we see our Father using us to do the works that Jesus did and even greater ones, John 14:12, then look for Jesus’ return. When we see our Father causing us to feed those who hate us, when we see the dead being raised, when we see the blind seeing, the lame walking, and we see all of these things as powerfully and even more abundantly then when Jesus was here, then look for His return.
You also must be ready therefore, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time? Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is that servant whom, when his master comes, he will find so doing. Matthew 24:44-46

So right now pray for the world. Pray for those who are right and those who are wrong. Pray for our leaders and the people that will be directly affected by what is going on. Pray that our Father uses us as never before to be a witness. Intercede for those who are killing people, for they know not what they do. Intercede and loose peace on the players and those around you are worried. Sow the Word and relax, because right before the end times do come we will be being used by our Father in such great ways that the events around us will not matter to us in the least. Just as Stephen, they were killing him and all he saw was our Father’s glory.
