How We Can Understand

As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God. Romans 3:10-11

You ever think that you just don’t understand? Well relax, because according to the Bible no one does. The only way that we can understand anything about God, Who is our Father, is by Him showing us the Truth about Himself. Our understanding is not determined by how much we study or how often we go to church. The absolutely glorious and freeing Truth is that we can never come to know anything about the Truth unless our Father first shows us it. So we are able to relax in the freedom that our knowledge and wisdom are dependent on God revealing everything to us. We cannot do it, so we don’t ever have to take thought about it.

All things have been entrusted and delivered to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son deliberately wills to make Him known. Matthew 11:27

He said to them, To you it has been given to [come progressively to] know (to recognize and understand more strongly and clearly) the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that, [though] looking, they may not see; and hearing, they may not comprehend. Luke 8:10

Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking under the power and influence of the [Holy] Spirit of God can [ever] say, Jesus be cursed! And no one can [really] say, Jesus is [my] Lord, except by and under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3

In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence). Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him, Ephesians 1:7-9

It seems that whenever I take conscious thought about what I need to study I draw an absolute blank. Yet, when I stop taking thought for it, God just shows me all kinds of stuff. I can read and read a verse and see nothing, then all of a sudden God will show me that verse and it’s like a whole new world was opened up to me. So don’t beat yourself up, our Father will show you all that He wants you to know and He will do it when it is the perfect time for you. He also knows exactly how you need to see it. It may be in Church, it may be in a private study session, or it may be in a dream or a vision, it may even be while you’re driving your car. When and how doesn’t matter at all, our peace is that our Father is completely responsible and He will teach us all things.
