Ephesians 3:2-3

Assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace (His unmerited favor) that was entrusted to me [to dispense to you] for your benefit, [And] that the mystery (secret) was made known to me and I was allowed to comprehend it by direct revelation, as I already briefly wrote you. Ephesians 3:2-3

We are told here that Paul was allowed to comprehend the mystery. Think about Paul’s life. He was not deserving at all of such a wonderful gift. When Paul was given this gift he was torturing Christians, arresting them, and supporting their deaths, yet our Father allowed Paul to know the Truth. Paul definitely did not earn the right to understand the mystery, he didn’t work hard for it, and he wasn’t seeking it, it was just given to him. The mystery was revealed to Paul because our Father willed it, not because Paul wanted it.

But when He, Who had chosen and set me apart [even] before I was born and had called me by His grace (His undeserved favor and blessing), saw fit and was pleased. Galatians 1:15

What’s so glorious about this Truth is that it removes so much self condemnation and questioning from us. There are so many things that we want: miracles, miraculous healings, prophecies, complete understanding, walking on water, raising the dead, or even turning water to the best wine that anyone had ever had, but many times these things do not come. I am not saying that these things do not exist, or that they are not happening. What I am saying is that they have to be given to us first from our Father for them to happen and that these gifts are not earned by us, they are just given to us. There were many worthy men and woman in the Old Testament who wanted what our Father gave Paul, but it wasn’t given to them. It’s not because our Father wasn’t pleased with them, or that they didn’t have faith, it just wasn’t in our Father’s plan for them to have them.

So we can all relax, because if our Father wants us to have or know something, He will insure that we do. He may have us praying and believing for them or we may be persecuting believers when He gives us His gifts. Our peace though is that if our Father wants us to have a gift or knowledge it will come to pass. So don’t let anyone, including yourself, ever condemn you that you don’t have something because of a lack of faith. If we need faith, it is Jesus’ responsibility to Author and Finish whatever faith is needed within us.

Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

We are not all called to be used in the same way. It doesn’t mean that we are bad or that we are not loved by God. It just means that we all have been called to be used in different and varying ways. Some of us may be given 5 talents, some 3, and some 1. Some of us may be used all of our life's and some just at the end, but our Father will give us all the same reward because He can.
