Revelation 7:14

14 I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
  • Salvation will be massive during the Great Tribulation. Many people will be delivered from the impending wrath of our Father and from the excessive wantonness of the world.
  • Our Father may allow us to be martyred by the false leaders for our testimony. But we will not suffer the wrath of our Father.
  • Our fear of death is removed from us because we have passed from death to life already. Our fear of death is removed from us because the perfect Love of our Father has been shed abroad in our hearts.
  • There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]. 1 John 4:18
  • Notice that John writes that these people came out of the Great Tribulation, not that they came out of the world or out from the earth. These people have been gathered from every nation of the earth, and there are so many of them that they cannot be counted, and they all have come out of the Great Tribulation. This means that they are no longer the recipients of our Father’s Wrath! Also notice, that these people are standing before the Throne and not seated in it, as the Word tells us that we are when we are saved. We have been raised up together and made to sit together in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 2:6.
  • The Great Tribulation is not a place but an event. These saints have the Blood of Jesus, so they are of the Church. You see Jesus’ body is the Church, He is not divided, there is not the church of Gentiles and the Church of Jews, or the Church of those after the Great Tribulation begins. In Christ we are one, one body, one spirit, and one mind, we are one Church!
  • Think of it, right now we are on this earth and we come out of battles, or we come out of wars, or out of a trial. And right now on this earth, we have been washed with the Blood of Jesus, this washing does not happen when we get to Heaven, it happens when we are first chosen and saved, when we are born again. So this verse does not necessarily mean that these people have been removed from the world. Because the Truth is that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world. This verse only teaches us that these people have come out of the Tribulation. They are now protected from the wrath of our Father.
  • These verses are telling us about the lost who will be saved during the Great Tribulation. They were unsaved and they were in the Tribulation, they were receiving our Father’s Wrath. Our Father called them to salvation during the Great Tribulation, so they came out of it. Think of how these people must feel? Talk about peace! The Truth is simply this: that these people came out of the Great Tribulation! They came out of the Tribulation by being born again, yet they still are in the world.
  • Also remember that these people have palm branches in their hands. When Jesus was riding into Jerusalem on the donkey, right before He was crucified, the people had palm branches to lay down before Him, John 12:13. So these people have palm branches to lay down before Jesus as He returns. They have His praise in their hearts, they glorify Him, they testify of His Lordship, they witness!
