"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can you, except ye abide in Me. I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing." John 15:4-5

There is a Godly Truth and it is this: people who spend time in the Word and in prayer, who abide in them are bold! Because with what measure we meet it shall be measured unto us and whatsoever things we sow, that shall we reap! Find someone who has truly been empowered by the Holy Spirit to allow God to lead them in study and in prayer, and you’ll see someone who believes in asking, and who believes in asking for bold and powerful things from God. They will ask for salvation for those that the world has abandoned, they will ask for and expect Jesus like moves of God in this world. They have the mind of Christ and they know who they are in Christ and Who He is in them. They know what salvation means and the power of it! They know that by asking and bearing fruit glorifies God, and that is the desire of their heart, to bring glory to the One Who glorifies them. Find someone who is offended at asking and you’ll see someone who spends their time elsewhere! With what measure we meet, it shall be measured unto us again! The Truth is really this, if we have truly been born again and baptized with the Holy Spirit, and have been empowered to accept Jesus as Lord, then He will lead us into this lifestyle and we can’t help but to abide in Him and ask from Him. “He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3

Have you ever known a brother or sister in the Lord who continually talks about spending more time with God, yet it never really seems to come to pass? I have heard an awful lot of sermons that condemn people for this, especially when I was growing up. So many preachers and sermons place all of the responsibility on us and there is a great deal of condemnation associated with it, even though the Bible teaches us that there is no longer any condemnation for us. Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Clearly something was missing and while I heard so much condemnation, I never really heard the answer preached. Here is the Truth and answer for people like this: the reason people fail to walk in a mature relationship with God is because they are looking towards themselves to foster the relationship, and alone it will never happen. There will always be work, kids, whatever it is, and though the reasons will seem legitimate, they will always get in the way and they will always rob us of the fullness that God has for us. If we want to experience the unity available to us with God; if we want true unbroken and full fellowship with our Father, and to experience the rich full life available to us through Christ, here is how it happens, we must be empowered by the Holy Spirit to look to God for all things! Through the power of the Holy Spirit we must ask our Lord and Savior to lead us in every area of our lives and realize that without Him in every area it will never happen. “I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5 Without Jesus we can do nothing! If you aren’t studying enough, praying enough, fellowshipping enough, look to God for the power to carry out His will in your life, and ask Him to lead you and to guide you. And remember that the only reason that you are desiring to ask for this Truth is because it is Jesus within you directing you to, and faith comes from hearing the Truth and the Truth sets us free! People who succeed with God do it only because it is Christ in them and who people who fail are those who only have themselves. Jesus succeeds 100% of the time, He has never failed and He never will!
