Ephesians 5:1

Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. Ephesians 5:1

We can’t help but imitate the One Who we are one with. It’s just born into us to be Christlike. The body has to behave as the Head that it is controlled by.

Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me [out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and confess [that I am abiding in] him. Matthew 10:32

For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10

Because we are members (parts) of His body. For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is very great, but I speak concerning [the relation of] Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:30-31

Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him. In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love's complete perfection]. 1 John 4:15-18

Jesus told us that because we have been allowed and empowered to know Him, that we would be used to do the works that He did and even greater ones. So we should fully expect our Father to honor His Word. We should love as Jesus loves. We should have faith as He has faith. We should know the things that He knows. We should have His peace and His forgiveness. There is nothing that Jesus has or that He is that we should not have ourselves. None of it can be earned, however it should all just be freely given to us by our Father. It is not wrong to want all that our Father has told us that we have. We can never be good enough, but Jesus overcame that. We can never believe enough, but Jesus overcame that pitfall for us as well. So expect it all because we have been told that Jesus secured it all for us.
