Revelation 13:1

[As] I stood on the sandy beach, I saw a beast coming up out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads. On his horns he had ten royal crowns (diadems) and blasphemous titles (names) on his heads.
  • A beach is not a solid foundation.
  • And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. Matthew 7:26
  • The beast will seem to come from among a group of people, even though he actually comes from the Great Abyss, Revelation 17:8
  • The sea is the place where satan lives. Sea's are smaller bodies of water then oceans: the Sea of Galilee, the Sea of Cortez.
  • Sea’s in prophecy seem to be associated with a regional group of people.
  • 10 Horns represents 10 rulers. Usually a ruler of a kingdom will have a military force.
  • 7 Heads are 7 kingdoms.
  • On the heads of these ten kings we are shown that there are blasphemous titles. So these kings are claiming that the works of God are theirs.
  • Blasphemy is basically taking something of our Father and claiming that it is not of Him. We can see this in the Gospel’s when people told Jesus that the works that were being done by God through Him where actually of the devil. When Jesus heard what the religious leaders were saying about the miracles being performed through men, He warned the leaders of the unforgivable sin of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 12:31.
  • These kings will be glorifying themselves and the anti-christ, and while they very well may have a form of godliness, they will deny our Fathers power and place it all on man’s abilities.
  • The Holy Spirit tells us that right before the Great Tribulation begins people will be saying peace and safety, 1 Thessalonians 5:3. Why is this important? It is because we are told that these ten kings are saying blasphemous things. They will be taking credit for the power of the Holy Spirit that is working on the earth. During the end times these leaders will be glorifying themselves and the laws that they have passed as the power behind the peace and safety, instead of the power of the Holy Spirit that will be pouring out through the body of Christ. They will be in danger of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. It will all look religious and it will all be done in the name of love, yet all of the glory will be directed towards man, towards government, towards policies, and not towards God.
  • They will be boastful, prideful, arrogant, and lovers of money.
