The Spirit of God Will Destroy The Evil of Our Flesh

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." Romans 8:13

The Spirit of God will kill the evil deeds of our flesh, which are sin! The Spirit quickens our mortal bodies and only through the Holy Spirit can these things be accomplished! There is nothing that we can do to perfect our flesh from sin; it all has to be done by God. “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” Romans 8:10 Now here is what is really cool about Romans 8:10, “..but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” We are now alive and we are no longer in the flesh because of righteousness. We are able to have all of the power of God, because God has made us righteous through Jesus. The power of the Blood of Christ has done it for us! Righteousness has set us apart for holy use. Righteousness has given us peace and righteousness has made us alive together with God. Righteousness has made us the very body of God. "For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church." Ephesians 5:29 God loves us, we are His flesh, and since we are, He nourishes us and He cherishes us. Righteousness allows Him to; there is now no separation between God and us. Jesus has made us perfect in One! We are now in Jesus, Jesus is now within us, and we are now all in God! In the world there will be tribulation, but we are of good cheer, because Christ, our Savior has overcome the world, and we are now new creatures in Him! We are now more than conquerors through Christ Who loves us, and God is now for us, so who or what can be against us!

"Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God. Who hath sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 God has established us, by taking away the weakness of our mortal flesh. God calls things that are not as though they are, and He said that because of the power of His Spirit within us, we are no longer in the flesh. So, a-men, we are no longer in the flesh! “(As it is written, I have made thee the father of many nations;) before him who he believed, even God, Who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Romans 4:17 We were dead, but God has quickened us; He has sealed us, and He has placed Himself fully in our hearts! God has done all of this because of righteousness, because He is righteous and because we are righteous through Him. If the Vine is righteous, so are the branches!

"And being fully persuaded, that what He had promised, He was also able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness." Romans 4:21-22 Abraham did not have the Holy Ghost dwelling within him as we do. Jesus had not gone to the Cross for him and yet he believed that God was willing and able to do what He had promised, and since Abraham did believe, God counted him as righteous! Through the power of Christ that is within our lives how much more righteous than Abraham are we? We have been given the Holy Spirit and we have the sacrifice of the Cross, and the Blood of Jesus has cleansed us! Through the power of God within us, we can be fully persuaded, far more than Abraham ever was. We have the earnestness of God within our hearts! We can be fully persuaded that verses such as 1 Corinthians 6:11-12 are true! “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful unto me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." Because we are no longer in the flesh, as Abraham was, we can believe and fully trust that God has justified us, that He has sanctified us, and that He has washed us. Through the power of God, we have a mind, a heart, and a spirit that can be fully persuaded that God has made our mortal flesh alive together with Him!

"For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them also glorified. What shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:29-31 God knew that our flesh was weak, so He sent Jesus and did something about it. Faith comes from hearing these verses that we have studied and all scripture is given by God, so that we can be perfect! "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

“I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me." John 17:23 We have been made righteous because of what Jesus has done for us and God can now perform His works of righteousness through us! We can move past the beginning teachings of Christ and we can move on to perfection. We can move on to being fully persuaded that God is willing and able to work through us, just as He worked through Jesus! The righteousness that comes from the Blood of Christ allows Him to!

Father I ask You in Jesus’ Name that You bring to complete maturity the knowledge of who You have made us. I thank You that Your Church is a perfect one without spot, wrinkle, or blemish as we are used by You walk in the fullness of Your glory and power. I thank You that You have given us peace that passes all understanding regarding the freedom from sin that Jesus has provided for us. And that His joy remains in us as we are used by You to go into all of the world and preach the Gospel to every creature! Yours Father truly is the power and the glory and the victory forever and ever, A-men!
