Through Christ We Have Victory Over Sin

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

Now here is the question that I want you to ask yourself, do you believe that there is now no condemnation for us because our Father just doesn’t condemn us, even though He should? Or do you believe that there is now no condemnation for us because there is nothing to condemn within us? I would say that the honest answer from most of us would have to be, that there is now no condemnation for us because of God’s grace, and He just doesn’t condemn us. But that’s not what Jesus came to do for us. Jesus came and was sacrificed for us so that we might have life and that we might have life abundantly. Part of an abundant life is God’s wonderful grace, but there is power for us as well! Sure if we mess up, Jesus’ Blood will cover the situation.

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2

The Holy Ghost had John write that if any man sin, not when every man sins! Our Father also wrote that His Word was given so that we would not sin. We have become one with Jesus, the Righteous One and He is more than capable of empowering us and enabling us so that not only are we covered if we mess up, but through Him we are actually capable of not messing up. We have grace and through Christ we also have the power to be righteous. Through Jesus we have been recreated in righteousness and in true holiness!

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 The strength of sin was the law? "But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of the letter." Romans 7:6

Through Jesus Christ we have been delivered from the very thing that gave sin its power, the law, the Ten Commandments and everything else that went along with them! The sting of death was sin, but now death has no sting for us and the grave has no victory over us. Where there is no law, there can be no conviction of breaking it, and through the power of Jesus’ Blood, there is now no law for us! You heard me right, no more law for us who are in Christ!!!!!!

"Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression." Romans 4:15

These Truths are what empowers Jesus to work through us. Sins power is now gone from us and the fear that went along with sin is now gone as well! Jesus’ perfect love has cast out all fear for us, and His love has cast out all of the torment that went along with it, so that we can walk in faith, faith Authored and Finished by Jesus Himself. There is now no fear of condemnation from God to contaminate His faith from working within us! So what if we mess up, there is now no fear in that for us. Jesus has covered that situation and now the power of sin and the fear that went along with it are gone! Through Christ we have this abundant peace and joy!

Think about a person who is going on a diet. As soon as they say that they are going to diet and then cheat on it, they condemn the daylights out of themselves and then they eat like a horse. But as soon as they realize that there is now no condemnation and they realize that they actually have the power to succeed, they eat right and loose the weight. As long as there is condemnation and fear, they will do the very thing that brings the condemnation and fear. But as soon as the condemnation and fear are gone for them, they walk in victory. This is what needs to happen with us! Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and as the Holy Ghost had John write, these things have been written so that we will not sin! Through the power of Christ, we actually can walk without sin, and not just walk in the forgiveness of sin! We can actually enjoy and live the fourfold salvation of no penalty of sin, no presence of sin, no power of sin, and no pleasure of sin!

"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 We have been washed, we have been sanctified, and we have been justified by the very Spirit of God. We have been empowered with the Holy Ghost to succeed and while our flesh was weak before our salvation, it is now strong through the strength of God that dwells within us! Just as it is with Jesus, it is with us! It is the Father within us doing His righteous works! If the Vine is righteous so are the branches, and so is the fruit that is produced through the branches! We can only produce the fruit of the Vine that we are united with, and we are united with the Righteous One.

“For in that He died, He died unto sin once; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:10-11 The Bible teaches us that we believe with our hearts and confess with our mouths, and out of the abundance of our hearts our mouths will speak. “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6:45 So what is in abundance in your heart, that you are a sinner who is just saved by grace, or that Jesus the Righteous One is now within you and that it is the Father within you doing the works? Is the focus of your heart on yourself or is it on God? Does your heart believe that you actually can live and be used by our Father to perform righteous works, because it is the power of God within you? Does your heart believe if you sin, or does it believe when you sin? Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God, and our Father believes if we sin, not when we sin!

"And ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power: In Whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who hath raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiving you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross; Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Colossians 2:10-15 God believes that we are complete in Him! God believes that the circumcision of Jesus Christ our Lord and His Son has put off the body of our sin. God believes that the power and principalities that were against us have been spoiled. God believes that the Cross was sufficient to allow Him to live through us completely as He lives through Jesus! God has placed a new heart and a new spirit within us that allows us to believe the same way, and to insure that we do believe; God gave us His very Spirit, His Holy Spirit! God has given us the ability to believe as He believes and to walk as He walks, because God has allowed us to be united with Him through the power of Christ! And now when people look at us they will know that we are born again, because we are righteous even as He is righteous! “If ye know that He is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of Him.” 1 John 2:29

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24 We are not just forgiven, we have put on a new man that is actually created after God in righteousness and in true holiness. God actually did this for us; God is not a man that He should lie. God is willing and God is able to do that which He has spoken, and through His power within us, we are more than capable of being fully persuaded of it!

“Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 Because of Jesus we can actually walk in newness of life, not just forgiveness of life. Because He lives, we can live, and we can live as He lives. Jesus came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly and an abundant life is more than just a life that is walked in forgiveness, it is a life that is walked in righteousness and true holiness. An abundant life is a life that is created after God, a life that is lived as He lives! “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 If we are just forgiven, there will be no boldness on the Day of Judgment, there will only be a bunch of Nervous Nellie’s. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, and of power, and the power is God, and it is God within us. God will do His works through us in the earth. God will live through us just as He lives through Jesus, and since He does, we can walk and be used to work righteously just as Jesus. We can be every bit as sure that God will raise us up in righteousness, as Jesus was sure that God would raise Him up. We are so much more than just forgiven, we are empowered with every force of God to live as He desires for us to live, doing the works that Jesus did, and even greater ones, because Jesus has gone to the Father!

Here is the key: That Jesus had a flesh where nothing good dwelt and he purified himself with power from the holy spirit. Not his will but god's will. His will was to sin, god's will was to not. He is the way.
