Through Christ We Are Increased With God

“And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” Colossians 2:16

Jesus is now our Head, and through Him, and through the power of the Holy Ghost, God is increased within us. The Truth teaches us that we are increased with the increase of God, how great is that? As we grow through Christ, what is actually being added to us is God! We grow in the perfection of God Himself! “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 We don’t just grow in our ability to understand God, we actually are growing with the increase of God Himself! I hope I am preaching that in a way that can be understood? As we grow through the power of Christ, we actually are loosing more of us, and gaining God!

Just as Jesus is fully God and fully man; He has been raised from the dead and glorified, that is exactly what we are being made into. Jesus is the firstborn among many brethren and all of us who are born after Him, will be like Him. Because we are born from the same Father, from the same Incorruptible Seed, and we are now one with Him! Faith comes from hearing the Truth, praise God, we are growing with the increase of God Himself! From the moment that we say yes to Jesus as Lord, we are of Him, one with Him, perfect in Him, and yet, we can grow, and as we do, it is God being added to us! Just as muscle is added to our bodies, God is added to us! God is not hindered in any way from making us as He is in this world. The power of Christ is that strong! God is no longer hindered in recreating us in His very image in true righteousness and true holiness!

Why do we try to justify ourselves and grow in God through works, when it is Christ within us, when it is Jesus within us allowing us to increase with the increase of God? Why do we try to get to God through eating this or not eating that, by saying this day is holy, or by keeping some man made ordinances? This stuff looks religious and appears to be filled with wisdom, but it absolutely has no place in our lives! Just look at religion, there has to be a thousand different denominations because man has so many different rules that separate us. We call them doctrine and creed, but there is only One God, and His Eternal Word says that there is only one Body and only one Church! Jesus is not separated or divided, but yet all of these carnal things have vainly puffed us up and they have absolutely failed at furthering the Kingdom of our Father!
