We Are Delivered From This Evil World By Jesus

"Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To Whom be glory forever and ever. A-men." Galatians 1:4-5

Jesus offered Himself on the Cross so that we may be set free from our sins and so that we might be delivered from this present evil world. Now the question is this, is our deliverance from this present evil world had when we say yes to Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives or is our deliverance from this evil world when He returns? “Nay, in all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 There is no force that is present or that is to come, and there is no creature that can ever separate us from God when we are in Christ, and through Christ we are more than conquerors! So even though we are in the world, the world has no power over us! We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit and Jesus will never leave us or forsake us!

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” John 16:33 Amplified Bible We can be confident and certain that the world has no power over us! Because Jesus is the One Who has delivered us from all of our sins, and through Him and through His power the world and all of the forces of evil within it have been deprived of their power over us! The wage of sin was death, and Jesus defeated the power and fear of death by giving us life eternal. Sin brought sickness into the world, and by Jesus’ stripes we are now healed. Sin brought separation between God and man, but through Christ, man and God have become one, and through our oneness with God, we have been perfected! Sin brought fear into the world, but God’s perfected love, shed abroad in our hearts, has cast out fear and the torment associated with it. Sin hardened man’s heart, but God has given us a new heart and a new mind that is filled with His Holy Spirit, and we are now open to live in the freedom and liberty of God. Satan gained control of the earth through sin, but Jesus came and defeated satan and robbed him of his power and made a show of him openly at the Cross! We can be confident of these things, because we have the Holy Spirit within us teaching us that they are Truth, and the Truth sets us free! We have been delivered from all of the evil powers of this world, and there is nothing that will ever separate us from God, once we truly accept Jesus as our Lord!

The peace and confidence we have is this, Jesus did it for us! "But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me." Galatians 2:6 God will never accept what we do apart from Jesus. “I am the Vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5 We can do nothing without Jesus, anything that man does alone is denied by God. But with Jesus, we can do everything and through Jesus God is able to use us to produce much fruit, and through Jesus God enriches us in all things. Through Jesus we are accepted and pleasing to God. Jesus has delivered us from this present evil world by taking away our sins! We cannot earn it, and this Truth should bring us so much peace, because we don’t even have to try. Just by believing that Jesus actually is, is all that is needed. Once we do that, the rest is really up to Him. He is the One Who now leads us into the paths of righteousness and God is now the Gardener that prunes out the unfruitful parts of us, and the Holy Ghost now teaches us all things! Man you talk about entering God’s rest; this is rest! “For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.” Hebrews 4:10 God doesn’t accept our works, so why try, cease and allow Jesus to work through us, and then our works are accepted and our works are righteous! That is peace that passes all understanding. That is also the spirit that has been born into us, this is our new nature in Christ, this is the mind that we have been given, and it’s who we are! We no longer look to ourselves, we are just the body, Jesus is our Head, and the Head leads us and the Head guides us!

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16 We are not justified by keeping the Ten Commandments. We are not justified by not breaking the seven deadly sins! God justifies no one for doing these things! God justifies us because we believe in Jesus, and God has given every one of us the measure of faith to accept Him. God would that all men be saved! And when we do accept Jesus, God enriches us in all things so that we can do what is right. Jesus empowers us to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls, and minds. He empowers us to not steal, kill, lie, covet, cheat, commit adultery, or commit any other sin. Jesus enriches us so that we may do the works of righteousness, but even after He is in us, these works are not what justifies us; it still is His righteous Blood! This is a great Truth, we don’t grow in our maturity by not messing up, we grow in our maturity by trusting in Jesus more, and God performs that work within us! I hear people saying all of the time, I need to do this or I need to stop doing that, but what they really need to do is look to Jesus to Author and Finish their faith. Relax, God is the Gardener, Jesus is the refiners fire and the fullers soap! Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God. We are not in this alone; God knows what we need before we even ask, or if we even ask! He knows exactly what we need, and if we are saved He will empower us to cease from our own works so that Jesus can work through us, and He will allow us to produce much fruit! So relax, works do not justify us, God will strengthen us and lead us into the works, and we will do them by His power that is within us. The works do not bring God, yet God will bring the works!

Remember when you first said yes to Jesus the freedom that you felt. I remember when I was filled with the Holy Spirit, I was healed and I began to speak in tongues, but more than those things, I knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that I was now in God. I knew that God and I had a relationship, I could feel Him and I knew that I never would be alone again. I instantly had a peace that passed anything that I could understand, but even though I didn’t understand it, I knew that I had it. I instantly began to look to Him, and He has always led me, I have never really condemned myself, because God gave me this Truth right from the start, "Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" Galatians 3:3 I knew that there was nothing that I had done to get what I had experienced. I didn’t ask for tongues, but I was speaking in them. I didn’t ask to be healed; yet I was. I didn’t even ask to be filled with the Spirit, but God knew my heart, and He knew what I needed, and He gave it to me! Right from the start, God has been perfecting me, and He has always allowed me to understand that it was Him, and the peace and joy that go along with that is awesome. God is not a respecter of persons, if He has given me this peace, it is for everyone, and as He led me into His Word, I saw that it was for everyone! Our flesh and actions have no part in justifying us! Jesus alone justifies us and His power working through us perfects us!

Too many people first focus on the works of righteousness. These works will come, God will bring them, but we first are to seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, and then after that, come the works of righteousness through us! What is really awesome about our salvation is that we have Jesus and the Holy Ghost within us, leading us and guiding us in the way we should live. Just as loving parents, they are right here, but even stronger than parents, because they are in us and they are one with us! Infants must first become toddlers, then toddlers become kids, kids become teenagers, and then teenagers become adults! There is a process, we don’t ask toddlers to do the works of an adult, they aren’t capable! Righteous and miraculous works will come, but these works are a byproduct of our maturing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. What brings the victory of God for us is trusting in Him, faith, faith Authored and Finished by Jesus, and that may or may not be evidenced by the actual works we do! Think about it, how many times has God blessed you and delivered you from a situation, when everything you did was wrong? The only thing that you did was give up and look to God. There was no real faith in it, it actually was done as a last resort, after everything else had failed and you had no other option, but you finally looked to Jesus. Jesus is always the key to our victory and our maturing, and that may or may not show itself in works! As we grow, it will, but thank God, as we are growing it doesn’t have to! Our flesh does not perfect us; God’s Spirit perfects us. But no matter where we are in Christ, we are justified by Christ, and He has delivered us from this evil world and He has delivered us from our sin. And those, whom the Lord has freed, are free indeed! The World has lost all hold on us, and sin has been removed from us by the power of Jesus Christ within us! It’s a done deal!
