“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be My disciples.” John 15:4-8
It is so awesome who we now are in Christ. We don’t say yes to Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives and then just get by. We grow in His perfection! God has said that He would cause us to grow, everyone who has actually made Jesus their Lord will grow; God does not fail! And as we grow, we grow with the increase of God Himself. And as we grow people will see God’s righteousness through us, and they will know, because of what they see through us, that we are born again! We will do the works that Jesus did, and we will be as He is in this world, because we are now one with Him. We are perfected in our oneness with Him! The power of sin has been done away for us, and we are to consider ourselves dead to it, just as Jesus is dead to it. “For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:10-11 God doesn’t ask us to lie. If He tells us to consider ourselves to be dead to sin in the exact same way that Jesus is dead to sin, it’s because it’s true.
A little leaven, leaveneth the whole lump! I know so many who think that we still have sin and that sin still has power over us, even after we are saved. But the Truth is that the Righteousness of Jesus overcame sin and threw it out of us, and the Blood of our Lord and Savior destroyed it’s ability to ever come against us again! Our body that was capable of being effected by sin has been destroyed! “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is free from sin” Romans 6:6-7 Think about that, our body which could be effected by sin has been destroyed! Our body that could hinder God from having complete unity with us has been destroyed! We are now new creatures in Christ, old things are passed away and all things have become new to us. We are now the body of God’s Anointing, pure as He is pure, created by God in righteousness and true holiness, after the image of our Father! Not by works, least any man could boast, but all just a free gift according to our Fathers riches and glory in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
