Revelation 19:16-18

16 And on His garment (robe) and on His thigh He has a name (title) inscribed, king of kings and lord of lords.
  • Jesus will clearly be known for Who He is when He returns. His Name and the Truth that He brings will be seen by all.
  • Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth shall gaze upon Him and beat their breasts and mourn and lament over Him. Even so [must it be]. Amen (so be it). Revelation 1:7
17 Then I saw a single angel stationed in the sun’s light, and with a mighty voice he shouted to all the birds that fly across the sky, Come, gather yourselves together for the great supper of God,
  • There will be a clear and single message that Jesus is returning. The message will be preached in the Light of Jesus, so we are shown that it will be preached in the full and complete power of our Father's Love. Perfect Love casts out all fear, 1 John 4:18.
  • We see that the angel calls for the birds to come and feast on the flesh of the fallen.
  • This is showing us that Armageddon is about to happen and that Jesus is about to return to the earth.
  • I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. Luke 17:34
  • A lot of people will use Luke 17 to say that there is a pre-tribulation rapture, but this verse speaks of Jesus' return, not seven years before His return.
  • Then they asked Him, Where, Lord? He said to them, Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures or eagles be gathered together. Luke 17:37
  • The disciples asked Jesus where these people would be taken too and Jesus told them to where the dead bodies are that the eagles will come to eat. Jesus' parable in Luke 17 ties right in with Revelation 19:17.
18 That you may feast on the flesh of rulers, the flesh of generals and captains, the flesh of powerful and mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all humanity, both free and slave, both small and great!
  • When Jesus returns there will be a lot of people who are either miraculously gathered, or who just travel, to Armageddon. As Jesus' parable tells us: one will be taken and one left.
  • The Truth to remember here is that Armageddon only results in the death of the flesh. Armageddon does not destroy these people's souls.
  • The death of the flesh actually sets people free from the cares of this world. They may go to Hades as the Rich Ruler did in Jesus’ parable. But the cares of their flesh will end upon their death.
  • The death of their flesh does not mean that their souls are lost as many will tell us?
  • But if any person’s work is burned up [under the test], he will suffer the loss [of it all, losing his reward], though he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has passed] through fire. 1 Corinthians 3:15
  • These people may not be the Bride of Christ, they may lose that reward, but they themselves will be saved by passing through Hades. Jesus came to save the lost and He will save the lost.
  • Also remember that Jesus is no respecter of persons, Acts 10:34.
  • Jesus doesn’t respect any of us over another and Jesus went and set the captives free from Hades when He was crucified.
  • In which He went and preached to the spirits in prison, [The souls of those] who long before in the days of Noah had been disobedient, when God’s patience waited during the building of the ark in which a few [people], actually eight in number, were saved through water 1 Peter 3:19-20
  • So just because a soul is sent to Hades does not mean that they will not be allowed to be our guests in eternity. The Wedding Feast is filled with both good and bad guests, Matthew 22:10. Also look at what Peter was empowered to write us, that Jesus even preached to the souls of those who were around in Noah's day. The people in Noah's day were so bad that our Father caused the flood.
